A Community of Interest
Our fields of interest are knowledge and information and their management as resources (and/or assets) to provide value in any organisation whether small, medium or large in the private, public or voluntary sectors.
Our Aims
- offer a sharing experience in a friendly, open environment in which members feel comfortable in sharing their own experience and information/knowledge with other members, and speakers, as part of a learning process
- promote learning
- keep the Network and members abreast of latest thinking
- empower our members so as to help them progress their roles and careers
- provide an information and knowledge resource for our members
- forge links with other like-minded groups/organisations
Our Objectives
- to promote awareness and understanding of Knowledge Management (KM) and Information Resources Management (IRM) among senior managers and information/knowledge professionals
- to initiate and encourage the development of KM and IRM concepts and practices
- to develop guidelines for KM and IRM policies and their implementation
- to support the adoption of KM and IRM policies, strategies and procedures as sound business practice
- to develop guidelines on the business case (cost/value) for KM and IRM
- to provide case studies of good practice to stimulate learning
